High Intensity Focused Ultrasound
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a device that emits ultrasonic waves when used above the skin heats up the collagen under your skin & helps to lift and induce collagen remodeling. It’s a completely safe procedure, however, it takes at least 2-6 months to see a complete result of hifu treatments. At Akarshan Skin and Hair Clinic, our doctors will evaluate you first as all people are not suitable for HIFU treatments. It takes 40 mins to 1 hour for a complete procedure and HIFU is the most loved noninvasive treatment of face lifting and collagen remodeling. Q. How does it work?
=> HIFU uses ultrasound waves that heat up the collagen and creates thermal damage in the deeper layer of the skin. The damages are repaired by our normal healing mechanism and collagen gets remodeled and gives a more youthful and lifted look.
It removes the facial fats and sharpens the jaw line too. It helps to tighten the skin in the neck, and cheeks, and smooth wrinkles on the face neck chest. HIFU targets specific areas for contouring and lifting effects.

Q. Can Hifu lift the face?
=> If going through the needles and pain is ok then a thread lift is the best procedure for a facelift with immediate results. Yes, hifu helps in slight lifting of the face but the results are gradual as it’s a noninvasive treatment.
Q. Any side effects?
=> There are very less chances of permanent side effects like nerve damage. Slight pain and tingling during the procedure and swelling and redness are normally seen. Some amount of fat also gets dissolved by HIFU so if not done on the right candidate can cause volume loss in the face.
